About Retro Sounds

Although trading as Retro Sounds Disco & Karaoke, most people know me either as DJ John or Karaoke John due to my regular pub nights and private party work in the Barnstaple area since mid 1993.

I aim to offer a reliable and cost effective service to all my Clients with a strict emphasis what they want, not what I think they should want.  I have made it a rule not to use other DJs to cover any of my bookings, so if you book Retro Sounds, you can be assured you will always get me, not a third party.

Customised playlists are not a problem, in fact they are encouraged and I am happy to offer you as much, or little, advice you need as and when required.  You can download a blank playlist on the Downloads page if you would like one.

Requests are encouraged and QR codes can be provided to enable you and your guests to request songs without leaving the comfort of your seat (subject to adequate mobile phone and/or WiFi coverage.)  Your requests come directly to my laptop and I will reply if there is a problem in playing the song you have requested.

I have £5m Public Liabilbity cover as well as £1m Professional Indemnity Insurance.  Equipment is PAT tested for further piece of mind.
